May Everything God Has Said About Me Come True:

An Advent Retreat

Join us in NYC

Mary responded: “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.

Advent, which means “arrival,” is a season of expectant waiting and preparation for the arrival of the infant Jesus. With his Annunication to Mary, God forever alters the life of one woman, but also the life of all creation. In Mary’s simple words of surrender to what God says about her - that she was favored by God, that she would give birth to the Christ Child - she gives herself, body and soul, to God’s creative purpose.

What would our lives look like if we also said “Yes” to everything God said about us? How might one simple act of assent reverberate into the world? This Advent, we are invited to prepare for Christ’s birth by listening, with Mary, to what God says is true about each one of us, and to give a wholehearted “yes” to God’s breaking into our lives.

Through Scripture reading, Lectio Divina, and time for silence and personal reflection, we will invite God to speak his truth into our lives and prepare ourselves to respond “yes” to all he has for us in the coming year.

The Stillness Collective

The event will be hosted by Janine Rohrer and Carrie Myers, two experienced spiritual directors and ministry leaders, with live music provided by musician and composer David Buchs, also an experienced director and ministry leader.
